Submer raises $12 million from international investor

Submer is proud to announce a closing of $12 million from international investors.

The investment mainly comes from:

  • Norrsken VC, the Norrsken Foundation VC arm backing high-impact scalable tech companies founded by Niklas Adalberth, the co-founder of Klarna.
  • A US-based co-investment from Tim Reynolds, a retired co-founder of Jane Street Capital. Tim experienced the data center efficiency, density and cost challenges and saw in Submer a great solution to these problems.
  • And a follow-on investment from Mundi Ventures.

“The Series A fundraiser, represents for Submer the perfect opportunity to bring forward our ambitious and necessary mission to build ‘datacenters that make sense; bringing high efficiency, density and sustainable innovation for datacenters anywhere in the world’,”
said Pol Valls, co-founder and CIO of Submer.

“In the last couple of years, we released 5 different iterations of our main Immersion Cooling solution, always driven by two fundamental principles: designing a solution environmentally friendly and, at the same time, highly efficient and ‘smart’ for our customers’ business. In that sense, becoming a Platinum Member of the Open Compute Project Community, is a clear declaration of our intent to help the industry find more efficient and practical solutions”, added Daniel Pope, co-founder and CEO of Submer.

“We are growing fast, and expanding our activity worldwide. Our recent partnerships with Kaori and the hiring of experienced professionals of the datacenter and IT industry such as ex Microsoft and Dell Clinton O’ Leary (Regional Director in the Middle East and Africa), ex Apple and Yahoo Scott Noteboom (appointed CTO about a year ago) and, recently, CJ Bruno, the former Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Intel Americas – reflect the news stage Submer has entered. We are working together with the best professionals of the industry to really make a change and help datacenters and hyperscalers find a more practical, sustainable and smarter way of doing business”, explained Adrian Whelan, VP of Partners and Business Development at Submer.

Submer was founded in 2015 by Daniel Pope and Pol Valls, to make operating and constructing datacenters more sustainable and efficient. Submer helps enable datacenters that make sense through products, platforms, APIs, processes and installations that will move hyperscalers, colocation and huge industries to new levels of efficiency and innovation.
