Industry All-Stars Pook, Bailey, Mayer and Hinchcliffe Join Board of Advisors

February 7, 2020 – San Diego, CA – Allen Berg, CEO and Founder of Allen Berg Racing Schools announced today the formation of a new entity – Allen Berg Motorsports, LLC (ABM) – to reflect the diversity of program offerings moving forward. Berg, following the appointment of motorsports industry veteran Jim Bowie last year, has now assembled a world-class, all-star board of advisors to support the new direction for the company. Joining the ABM board are industry pioneers Chris Pook, Roger Bailey, Tim Mayer and James Hinchcliffe.

“Once Jim (Bowie) and I had drafted our new strategic plan, we knew we had to strengthen our team,” explained Berg. “Based on the new direction that we are taking with our platform, we set about to put together a powerhouse advisory board.”

Chris Pook has a history of success that is without equal, and includes but is certainly not limited to, Founder/President/CEO Grand Prix Association of Long Beach, Inc.  “I’m really excited about contributing to the new strategic vision for ABM and for the opportunity to join Allen, Jim and my partners on the board in revitalizing this category,” enthused Pook. “We have an opportunity to create an experiential motorsports property that has never been done before, and there is only one chance to be first.”

Roger Bailey’s background and experience include not only working with Enzo Ferrari, Carroll Shelby, Bruce McLaren and Roger Penske, but also for launching what would become the long-running Indy Lights series. “Once I saw the ground-breaking strategy for ABM, and who was involved, I wanted to be a part of it.” said Roger. “I think there are very exciting things to come from Allen and his team and I look forward to contributing to the new strategy. Stay tuned!”

Tim Mayer is an FIA Steward working in F1, Endurance Racing and RallyCross as well as being the sporting organizer of the FIA World Championships in the US. He is an independent Director of the American Competition Committee for the US (ACCUS), and serves on many FIA Committees representing the US. Tim brings a wealth of knowledge and diverse industry background to ABM. “Working in motorsports worldwide, I see that the industry needs continuous innovation to stay competitive and to be sustainable,” explained Mayer. “I am pleased to join the advisory board at ABM, because of Allen’s deep commitment to the future of the company and the ambitious, game changing plans that are in the works.”

James Hinchcliffe, six-time IndyCar Series race winner, and 2011 IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year brings unique on- and off-track skill and knowledge to the ABM board. “Chris, Roger and Tim all played a significant role in my ascent to IndyCar, explains James. “I also worked with Jim in my early single-seater days, and have long admired Allen’s tenacious ascent to Formula 1, so for us to be all together on what I can assure you is going to be an industry changing journey is really exciting.”

Berg, fresh off the recent announcement that he has been inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame explains more; “We are a building a value based, event and experiential marketing company that will use “race cars” as a relevant platform that aligns with the current and future goals of the automobile industry and the next generation of mobility. We will also be continuing to evolve our class-leading racing school offerings with plans to reinvigorate that industry as well. We have completed a Private Placement Memorandum to raise investment capital to build a new fleet of relevant race cars. We look forward to more exciting announcements as we’re able.”
