Dyldam celebrates 50 years of success in property development and construction across Greater Sydney
Chief Operating Officer of Dyldam, Remon Fayad, sat down with The Property Development Review to revisit the company’s successes and to reveal their grand plans for the future.

For decades, Dyldam’s enterprising foresight has allowed them to evolve as a company and to take an active role in the evolution of housing in Australia, particularly across Greater Western Sydney and the Hills District, which today are on the cusp of unprecedented growth.

In conversation with The Property Development Review, Remon Fayad, Dyldam’s COO, reflects upon Dyldam’s successes as they celebrate their 50th Anniversary in property development and construction. “Dyldam has evolved from building a modest red brick walk-up in 1969, to an integrated property company delivering master precincts of more than 15,000 homes,” he says.

The company made news headlines last year when their plans for an $808 million residential precinct in Merrylands, known as Opera, were unveiled. “While it is a big project, we’re always up for a challenge,” says Remon. “As the population gravitates towards employment hubs like Parramatta, living in a modern apartment in Merrylands is both more affordable and very convenient.”

For years, providing housing in Greater Sydney has been a focus for Dyldam who saw potential in the region long before plans for Western Sydney Airport were announced and three tiers of government began investing billions into infrastructure projects and the creation of jobs.

Although “opportunities in Western Sydney and the Hills District continue to reveal themselves,” says Remon, Dyldam also intends to venture into new areas. “If the area and type of development fits with the Dyldam brand and philosophy, then we will consider it,” he says. Early work has begun on Maison, a residential complex in Rosebery, a trendy suburb in Sydney’s inner-South and planning is underway on a project in Brisbane, he revealed.

The project the COO is most looking forward to, however, is the completion of South Quarter, an ambitious residential, retail and lifestyle precinct that will span three blocks of downtown Parramatta. “This is set to be a global destination,” says Remon. Upon completion, South Quarter will also be home to an international hotel and 775 luxury apartments.

“We have spent the past five decades re-framing the Australian dream of home ownership,” says Remon. “My vision is to be a national company and have developments all over Australia.”
